French Girl

There's no place like Boston in the fall. It's still warm enough to dine alfresco, but cool enough to walk around with friends and not overheat. The city shines in golden hues from the leaves and ruby red tones from the brownstones. Did I just describe Harry Potter's school colors? Maybe.... But besides Gryffindor's excellent color combo, you can wear an ironic turtleneck crop top in the fall, and have it be 100% appropriate. Priorities.

In the South End, which oozes with charm, my favorite restaurant right now is Frenchie. Dining inside or outside, you're in for a beautiful scene. A lot of thought has gone into the interior design of this place, as well as the menu: croissants everything! The staff here is exceedingly friendly, and just want to give you the best experience. If you want to dine alfresco, but feel you missed the summer weather, they have a greenhouse-esque room in the back! You're welcome!

I love brunch, my roommate is slowly find—that's a lie... it was basically on a cue card of facts of me. Ok she's slowly finding out how OBSESSED I am with brunch, like will make plans at 2 am about it because that's when I crave french toast the most. Getting on Bumble BFF saved me, 1. it gave me friends, 2. it gave me people I can do brunch at Frenchie with. Going through a depressing divorce, it's sometimes hard to get up, let alone joyfully shove carbs down your throat and feel happy afterwards, but this is why you need friends. My friends knew that I needed a good brunch, have that 'Sex and the City moment', and tell me that I didn't need to photoshop myself later. Thanks ladies, but I still edited myself. But that's what friends are for: to get you out of your rut and just laugh with you. I know how hard it is to be vulnerable to a group, open up, cry, feel needy, and be the 'lame' friend, but it's also a good test to see who's truly there for you. Who will show up at brunch for you? (And then who will walk from the South End to Beacon Hill because that 5th chocolate croissant wasn't that necessary....and will also take your photos for the blog—wow I'm needy). But anyways.... friends: check, South End: check, Beacon Hill: check — perfect fall day!
