I still can’t get over how much the Pru has changed over the years, I love it! I feel like they have grown with me. One of the new shops is MAC Cosmetics. One of the reasons why I love it is because it’s small and intimate, less packed than Sephora, and it’s my go-to for those “dramatic” looks.

I am clueless when it comes to makeup, you have no idea how many smokey eye videos on Youtube I have saved! So, needless to say, I love having my makeup professionally done. I would say in general, this is a great thing to do because you can learn about new products, while testing everything out, and look gorgeous for the rest of the day. I ventured to MAC Cosmetics right before attending Fashionably Late at the Liberty Hotel. If you’re in Boston, looking to get into the fashion world, you need to attend this series. It’s every Thursday at the Liberty Hotel, and it’s new Boston fashion designers showcasing their work, in a really unique way. The one I went to was featuring bag designer Oliver Thomas.

This event is really chic and requires a bold look. For me, MAC is the only one to do it (they also have the best false eyelashes, and I’m a sucker for falsies). MAC also carries this line of “studio fix foundation,” that I SWEAR to you was made for instagram, no filter required. It was specifically designed for flash photography. Going to an evening event, it’s going to be flash city, and you need a matte foundation to pick up that light, and not bounce it back resulting in a shiny oily look. This foundation perfectly evens you out and gives you that filtered look before you can even “Kelvin” it. (For the record, never use that filter). I tend to always go with darker lips as well when I’m getting my makeup done—it’s very NYC runway, and I can never put it on right, so having someone else do it is a treat.

Hope to see you all Thursday looking flawless in that studio fix foundation!

The MAC store at the Prudential also gives makeovers and lessons by appointment, and walk in demos!
