Father's Day at the Pru

Happy Father's Day Dad! I know this is your day and all, but would you even have this day without me?..... So really, who should be getting the gifts?

Hello Everyone, meet Papa Wish! Despite the numerous eye rolls, my dad has been my number 1 fan. I don't have a close relationship with my mother, so my dad stepped in and became the person I went to for everything. Just a brief story of the type of man he is, in high-school I had pretty much half the drama club sleep over, and in the morning he made french toast for everyone. It was like 10+ teenagers, and my dad became the short order cook hero that day.

To celebrate father's day, my Dad came into the city and we went to The Prudential Center, had ourselves a little shopping day and a picnic. I always feel bad dragging my dad into the city, knowing he's going to curse every driver in the non-avoidable traffic, then stress out over parking, so The Prudential Center is an awesome meetup spot. On Red Sox days, they have $18 parking deals, it's the best deal in the whole city, and a short walk to Fenway.  The Pru (what us cool kids call it) is right in the middle of everything, so it's a great starting point.

After dragging my dad through all my favorite stores, aka the ones that have both Men and Women's clothing ("Oh Dad, look at this Tie.... and also.... I love this top...": Club Monaco, Polo Ralph Lauren, Vineyard Vines, we went to Eataly and picked up some pastries, some pickled items to add to our sandwiches, and sat in the courtyard right in the middle of the Pru, the South Garden. During the summer, the South Garden always has events, from movies to workout classes, it's one of Boston's hidden gems.

I got my funky colorful style from my Dad (maybe because he didn't always know how to dress himself, he just pulled random things together and I picked up on that), and we love funky socks. Socks are such and understatement, and they can make an outfit pop (yes, I'm referring to men too). One of the things I got my dad and I are matching Polo Ralph Lauren socks, the iconic teddy bear print. I got the pink ones, and he kept the grey ones, we plan on wearing them on actual Father's Day. Yes, we're that cheesy, try and top us!

A huge shoutout to Style-Wire for taking these photos and hanging out with my Dad and I, also a huge Thank you to The Prudential center for sponoring this post.
